Error message
« on: June 07, 2010, 17:44:03 pm »
Is it just me, or does anyone else get the "internal server error" message when they try to reply to a post? It's been happening for a while now and I always assumed it was a BW thing as I don't have any other problems with my computer. But now I'm wondering...the word "internal" makes me think it's my computer ;D?

Nope, I get it too. Have made it a habit to copy longer replies before I hit post just in case I lose it!

Glad to hear it's not actually my computer. It really is a pain though because I'm not a patient person to sit and hit the "back" key over and over LIKE I"M DOING TO POST THIS ::) until it works. BTW Vikki, love D's new picture on the slide ;D!

This happens to me when I try to reply, when I click to see new replies to my posts, when I click on unread posts, when I click to see other pages in posts...ANY ol' time ALL the time.

If I click "Back" and try again it often works. And this is on a variety of computers so it is not your computer. I use a couple at work and have a laptop and desktop at home which I use. All of them do this.

So I guess a lot of you have been having this a lot again over the past few days. Every time I was told about it, I checked and it seemed OK. The memory seemed OK, well used but not running out.

Then this morning I discovered a culprit. A leaky apache. Yes, I know you all know EXACTLY what I mean! :)

Anyway, I restarted apache this morning and memory is back to normal. I'll keep an eye on it and patch it with marmite as needed.

You should not see that particular again for a while now! We'll see how long it takes for those apache leaks to come back (Man, cleaning up apache leaks is horrid. I changed our toilet yesterday and that was NOTHING compared to what leaks out of apache!)

Tom...
