3 months and not wanting to eat every 3 hours
« on: June 27, 2010, 03:55:33 am »
so my LO had the schedule as follows: 6:30 E
                                                    8:00 S
                                                    9:30 E
                                                    11:00 S
                                                    12:30 E
                                                    2:00 S
                                                    3:30 E
                                                    5:00 Catnap 1 hour
6:30 E, keep up bathe til next feeding
                                                    9:30 E then bed til 6:30am

Now, he does not want to eat acts very tired and cries when I try to feed him, I thought maybe I should move to 4 hours instead of 3? and now he refuses his last 9:30pm feeding, he just wants to sleep, so the last few nights he eats at 6:30 or 7 then I keep him up to feed, he doesnt feed so I put him down and he sleep til 6:30am. Do I drop the laqst feeing? Or do I not try and keep him up after his 6:30 feeding?? Hes only 3 months I cant imagine only feeding him 5 times a day already....please help!! Im sooo confused!!!

I would move to a 3.5 hour feeding before a 4 hour. But he could well be too tired to eat as he is having a very long day. Tracy recommends a 12 hour day/night so if your LO is awake at 6.30 then 6.30ish should be bedtime. You don't need to keep him awake for another feed, you can do a dreamfeed where you pick him up asleep and feed him still asleep.

Here is a link to some routines to give you some help. http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=164027.0  http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=164029.0

HTH! Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

Thanks Laura I will try that this morning! He has never been able to dream feed, once he is asleep he will not budge, Ive tried so much, He gets upset when I try and feed him when he is asleep. I shouldnt complain, he is such a good sleeper!! Last night he let me feed him 2 ounces at 9:30, the slept til 7am! I'm very blessed! I just want to get him on the right track in the day! thanks so much!

My two were never any good at the dreamfeed so we just let them wake when they were hungry. They went to bed by 7 and then woke sometime between midnight and 3am then went straight back to sleep.

Sounds like your LO is doing well, if you get bedtime earlier you should find he's not so tired for daytime feeds.
