Hi There

Our little guy is 4 months now. For the past little while his routine in the day has been quite consistent as follows:

6am wake up/feed
8am feed/nap
10am wake
12pm feed/nap
2pm wake
4pm feed/nap
6pm wake
7pm bath/pj
8pm feed/sleep

nightwakings:
12am feed
2:30/3am feed
4:30/5am wakings

At his night wakings he is grunting and moaning and driving his face into the crib mattress.  I will offer him a soother and he spits it out.  I offer to breast feed him and he drinks but then still continues the grunting and moaning and discomfort afterwards??

Any suggestions on what may be causing this.  Teething?  Gas?  How do I help him out?

Thanks
Natasha

Just a thought... If you leave him does he go back to sleep on his own? If I remember correctly, babies who used to feed around 4 or 5 eventually drop the feed, but still wake out of habit. If they've had good sleep training, they will chatter and bump around for a while and then go back to sleep. Is all the grunting, etc. your DSs way of dealing with that little wake period??

I think I'm going to have to leave him through the grunting until I hear a cry for me.  I'll see if he can resettle.  Thnks
