Eye rubbing as a sign of distaste?
« on: July 10, 2010, 16:05:46 pm »
Has anyone ever found that their LO rubs their eyes a lot when they don't like the food being offered?  If I change food he sometimes stops, and if I get him down and try putting him to bed he doesn't act tired anymore...

He is 9.5 months and we tried starting solids at 7 months but have only really seen interest since about 8.5 months.

Mine too.  She always has food stuck in her eyebrows after she is done eating!

my 8 mo always does this - if he doesn't like something he'll do it straight away and if he's had enough he'll always do it!!! Although he always has room for desert afterwards!!!! He also puts pulls his hair which is great after rubbing his face - head full of food!!! perfect when you're about to go out for the day!!!! :)

Mine rubs his nose when he doesn't like something!  Does the same when he's tired, but at meal times I'm pretty sure it's when he's had enough/doesn't like the food!  :)

Yes, mine (9.5mo) rubs her eyes as well, used to think she was tired. She does that when she' doesnt like the food or when she's finished. She also shakes her head so bascially I woudln't be able to aim with that spoon even if I wanted to. Do others also shake their heard?

Yup - Ben's done this when he's had enough to eat since around 8 months - so for more than a year.  (of course there are other ways he tells me he's had enough these days ::))
