Oh, Sabs.  Huge hugs.  It can be so tough at this age and the reflux can't be making it any easier.  When can you see your pedi again to ask about meds?  I'm no expert there by any means but it can't be helping for sure.  I do know that even without reflux that at this age Austin was still a bear at night.  He was colicky and just wouldn't settle.  But it did pass with time.  Felt like forever then, but he grew out of it around 5 weeks or so.  I'm so hoping that with some med tweaking and some time that things will get easier for you guys.  Sending lots of happy, healthy vibes your way. :-*

Megan had evening colic from 3-7 weeks, and it is really tough.

That stretch wasn't too bad though, hey?

It does take ages to deal with them at night at that age - always a good hour - now it takes me 20 mins. The pooping will stop soon as well.

Thanks Liz.  It is most definitely evening colic. :'(  I can't wait until her settling becomes shorter.

Alyssa will be 5 weeks on Monday and every night after her midnight feed, she does not want to go back in her Moses basket. I have tried swaddling her, unswaddling her and putting her on her side, but nothing seems to work. I can get her to sleep on her tummy beside me sometimes but the majority of the time she wants to sleep on me.

Is this normal for a lo so young? Anything else I can do?

Sabs, there is a scientificially known fact that LO's have a peak in their fussiness/crying at around 6 weeks (so 5 for some 7 or 8 for others).  Sounds to me like little Alyssa is going through a normal stage of development.
Re the settling at midnight, this may be a learned behaviour.  Try to pick one style of settling her, and then stick to it for at least a week.  Too many changes in a short period of time ie less than a week will make LO's confused as they cannot figure out what the routine is.  This is not going to last forever.  And MPI and reflux usually don't last forever either.  Keep that in mind when the days and nights get long and frustrating.

What do you think the best way to settle her at night is?  She normally sleeps on her tummy beside me after her midnight feed, then after her 4am feed, the moses basket is a hit and miss.  Should I continue to do the above?

I would, Sabrina. I'd do whatever it takes to get your family the sleep you need. Independent sleep can wait. Have you tried good old fashioned gripe water, or simiticone?

I agree, Sabs.  I would do whatever you can to get her to sleep in that latter part of the night - so often a tough time at this age.  Will she sleep in a swing?  Can you bring one into your room for that part of the night when she won't settle?  How did the baby carrier work out?

She will nap in the baby carrier in the morning and after dinner, when I take DD1 outside.  TBH as I am recovering from PPD, I don't have the energy or stamina to AP. Still, I give my all to get her to sleep.
Last night, she slept from 8:30pm -12am in her Moses Basket. After her 12am feed she slept beside me until 3am. Then she had lots of wind so she slept in my arms until 4am. After that feed I gave her to my MIL where she slept in the pack n'play until 7am.

A swing would be helpful if she likes it since it would take no effort on your part.  I know lots of refluxers like them, as well, since they're more upright.

I did all Finn's nap in the swing until around 16 weeks.  Then I started sleep training and using the swing for 1 nap a day.  It was great, I set it up in my room actually, and we would both go back to bed in the morning, me in the bed and him in his swing!!
The tweaking never stops!

I only tried the swing once and she didn't like it, but I  will try it again.

Finn hated it until around 8 weeks, but we kept trying anyway and then one day he fell asleep in there and it was great!  Do you have the infant bucket car seat?  You can also put her in there and swing it gently back and forth until she nods off.  That helped sometimes too.  We tried anything and everything!!!

Last night I put her in the Miracle blanket and she kept escaping it.  ::)  She likes to have her arms by her chest as we were using the Woombie from day one.  I tired pat shush yesterday for her nap and it took about 20minutes for her to fall asleep. I assume this is normal? I put her down sleepy awake and patted her side.
I want to start putting her down more sleep awake but I am not sure if she is still too young?  I have to put myself together to sleep train this little monkey.

Last night, she fell asleep in my arms so I put her in the basket and she slept for 4hours. After her first feed she settled easy and went back into her basket for another 2 hours. She then began to grunt with wind and ended up pooping. I picked her up and let her sleep for 40 min in my arms until her next feed. After her second feed she slept in the car seat by my mom.
