Hi! DS is 6.5 months old. He has never slept through the night.
Here is his EASY:
E: 7:00 - WU ad BF
A: 7:30 (including solids at 7:45)
S: 9:30 to 11
E: 11:00
A: 11:15
S: 2:00 to 3:30
E: 3:30
A: 3:45 - solids at 5:45, bath at 6:30
E: 7:00
S: 7:15
DS's naps are set in stone - as we have to drive DD to school in the morning and get her at the bus stop in the afternoons.
He wakes up to BF several times, usually around 10:30 and then 2 other times...about every 3-4 hours.
Now that DS is over 6 months I am ready to help him wean the NWs. With DD I did PU/PD when she was 1 year old and that worked great. But my situation with DS is different: DD is a light sleeper and will wake up if I let him cry and do PU/PD. DH has to go to work early and DS is still in our room so I don't want DH to be kept up.
Here is what DS does when he wakes up at night: he cries and I go and help him find his soother (yes we use it only for sleep in his bed!). I leave. If he fusses again, I do shh/pat. If I don't feed him, DS starts chatting and will stay awake talking loudly for 1-2 hours!!!!! So usually I just feed him and he easily goes back to sleep, only to wake up again wanting to eat 3 hours later. I know he wants to eat because he does his cough cry and looks toward the nursing chair.
I feel like I am resigned to just keep nursing him since I can't let him be loud at night. DD just started ful day JK and she desperately needs good sleep at night!!
Any tips or ideas for my situation? I have read that nursing 1 minute less per feed per night sometimes works...
DS nursing well during the day - full feeds from both breasts. At night he also has full feeds from both breasts. He is over 20lbs - a pretty big boy.
Thanks!
