I have an 8 month old girl who is a combination of an angel and textbook baby. However, for a few months, we have been battling a lengthy night wake/early wakings. They come and go, but more often than not, she wakes up anywhere between 3:30 and 5:00. She still appears tired, but fights her sleep. After she is up for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours, she will automatically relax and fall back asleep for 45 min and is then happy and ready to start her day. Do you think this is because she is overtired? On a typical day, her routine looks like this:
E: 6:00-6:30- Awake and ready to start the day-Bottle
A: Typically a 3 hour activity time
S: 9:00 - for 1 to 1 1/2 hours
E:10:00 - Bottle
A: Anywhere from 3 to 3 1/2 hours
S 1:30 - for 1 to 1 1/2 hours
E: 3:00 - Bottle
A: Typically 4 hours ( I know this seems a bit long, but she is typically happy and content. If she is fussy, we put her to bed earlier)
S: In bed between about 6:30-6:45. Is for sure asleep by 7:00 p.m.
She will typically wake once for a night feed (which she happily and readily goes back to sleep after) and then will have her early waking/night waking for the hour or so long period. She can and does put herself to sleep for night time and naps, so I don't believe it is a sleep training issue. Any insight or adivice you have will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
