Why is she waking up?
« on: November 16, 2010, 21:06:09 pm »
DD is waking up at 9pm screaming, we do PUPD and it takes AGES for her to calm down, we try to give her a dream feed at 10.00 but we always end up given around 9.00. She carries on crying when we pick up  :'( Then she will wake at 1.00 with the same thing, Where oh where are we going wrong?!! i feel like I am going CRAZY  :o

She gets plenty of solids, so don't think that hunger is an issue although when we give her the feed at 9, she takes most of it although this may be because she is SO SO worked up. I am at a utter LOSS.

Anyone help?

I'm just another struggling parent, but did you read FAQ on NAP board about 2-1 nap transition at 10-11 months? Not sure what's your EASy like but it may come as a result of day routine, I have encountered these transition issues as early as 9 months. They wake up first half of the night because of OT too - could you post your current EASY? Have you ruled out teething?

She is 6.5 months I think she may be teething, no teeth are showing yet. Very confused, I weened the dummy 2 weeks ago and on 2 of the night after she slept through :o :o :o NAps have improved SO much she wouldn't sleep for more than 30 mins before dummy was weened.

E 7am Bottle & Solids
A 7am
S 9.45/10.00

E 11.30 Bottle
A 11.30
E 1.00 Solids
S 2.00

A 3.30/4.00ish maybe before
E 5.00 Solids
E 6.00 Bottle
S 7.00

Dream Feed 9.30, although not really a dream feed as she wakes for it!

Hi there, I'm pretty sure we had 4 bottles at that age, breakfast, lunch, after PM nap and then right before bed.  Normally 6-7 mths is when you look to start moving away from the DF as can interfere with night sleep.

Also teeth could be playing a huge part.  Are you medicating at all?  Has she popped any teeth as of yet?

Her A times are high, LO is ready to drop the CN when they are consistently doing 3 hrs A time...how long has she been at 3 hrs A?

Hello!!

What would you reccomend in relation to her A time?

No teeth have arrived as yet, she will be 7 months next week. I think that they are bothering her, I give her pain meds last night before bed and then again when she woke at 5am didn't really seem to settle her any better.

She started with the 3 hours A time about 2 weeks ago the same time we weened the dummy she started sleeping, pre dummy she only had about 1.5 hours a day if I was lucky! And they would be in 30 min burts!

Do you think i could stop the dream feed? Sorry for all these Q! :)

Hi there, if she's closer to 7 mths then 3 hrs is actually spot on.  But it may take her some time to adjust since it was bumped up quickly.  A lot of LO are still at 2.75 hrs moving towards 3 hrs at this age.

She's had a lot of change it seems so she may just be getting used to the new regime.

Tracy did feel that the DF could start interfering with the night sleep right around this time period.  So it's worth a try.  See if she wakes on her own.
