Extending A's and the breastfed baby.

Just need a wee bit of input.

D's A times have taken a leap but she is still very varied on how long she go between a feed. Sometimes she is starving after 3 hours and sometimes can go 4 if she's asleep. So what happens here? The A's are up but the feeding isn't so she will inevitably short nap due to hunger if she's still not lasting between feeds kwim.

I would occasionally give Abby a quick top-off before a nap when we were in that situation - I just made sure she didn't fall asleep on the breast.  And that way she'd get a good nap.

SO for example today she fed at 11 after a 1.5hr nap. Next nap at 12.30ish....would that not encourage her to snack a bit? Would I then just feed at the 3ish hour mark from the 11 feed or the 12.30 feed? Very confused!  ;)

I'm not sure what is the right answer but I'll tell you what I done with DS: I kept the feeds and naps and two separate unrelated things until it all just came together(if that makes sense :) ).
So If he woke up at around the 3 hour mark I would feed him. But if it was less than that and he wasn't showing signs of hunger then I wouldn't. It did mean that sometimes he would be fed just before a nap, and sometimes he would go over 3 hours (if he was sleeping). But it worked for us.
If I remember well it only came all together when we started to move to a 4hr EASY when he was 4.5months.
