Anyone have a 14 week old who can do 2 hours A time?
« on: January 14, 2011, 22:16:49 pm »
My DD2 is 14 weeks and we were having a terrible time with 35-45 minute naps until this past Monday.  On the weekend I started with an awake time of an hour and 40 minutes and it still seemed to be too short.  We're now betweem an hour and 50 minutes and 2 hours of A time and she is napping great.  It just feels like it is such a long time for such a little baby.  Just wondering if anyone else out there has/had a baby of that age with such high A times.

Ya I really think she is one of them.  I'm not sure if it was the osteopath visit or longer awake times that have helped the naps.  I'm thinking a bit of both.  Oh and having the reflux hopefully under control has helped most  :P

Yes, you're not alone. :D DS has always had higher A times then the avg's.  We were on the 4 hour EASY with 2 hr A times at about 12-14 wks if I remember correctly.  One thing that's REALLY helped me when it comes to tweaking our EASY is to read ahead on the "sample" easy's, since your DD seems to be ahead of the avg's as well it might help you when things pop up and tweaking is needed (ex, dropping the CN ect).  As it stands my DS just finished the 2-1 transition, and does 5 hr + A times... (which is quite early considering he's 9-10months.)  I agree with the PP, A times aren't set in stone, they're just guidelines :) Good work being so in tune with your DD.

I spent so much time thinking that she needed to go to bed before she did.  Now I find when she is starting to fuss when I normally would have tried to put her to bed I put her in the swing.  She stays happily in there for a while (sometimes half an hour) with me talking to her or just hanging out.  Then when she is starting to get droopy eyed I take her out and put her to bed.  It actually works as a really good wind down too.  Wonder what will happen when she is too big for the swing :)
