19.5mo taking ages to sleep
« on: January 31, 2011, 22:37:23 pm »
Just a quick bit of advice needed.

The last few weeks K has been taking 30-60mins in the cot to go to sleep. He just plays and runs around the cot and eventually he lays down and sleeps. He used to be so tired you would quite happily sleep on his boob if I let him but now he seems too hyper to even take a BF in the evening. His routine is this
WU 7-8am
nap 1ish for 1hr 20-2hrs
BT 8pm but often not asleep before 9pm.

It is really frustrating because he used to take a few minutes to sleep only for naps and Bt. BT has been the main problem but today he did the same with nap time too. If anything I would say the days he sleeps longer nap he goes down better at BT which makes me think he is OT but he also seems OS.

any advice welcome and greatly appreciated.

What's his teeth situation?  I think it could be a missed window.  We just went through that when the molars were coming.  Turns out earlier bedtime was the answer.
The tweaking never stops!

Sorry for delay, I have been sick.

He has 16 teeth including 1st molars already. No obvious sign of others coming but he has been quite tearful lately which isn't like him. I moved his nap forward to 12pm last 2 days and he has slept 1.5hrs and been asleep no prob by 8.10pm both days and slept 11hrs (good for him) o/n last night.  Will see what happens next few days and bring BT forward if it doesn't last. Thanks
