Question: I'm struggling with naps for my DD for about 10 days now. I've read through many posts and have started a twenty minute down time in order to prevent OS. Before her cat nap I did the 20 minute down time and she peacefully and easily went down. Now it's been 50 minutes of sleeping and she's still asleep. Her bedtime is at 1900. Because she's only slept 2.5 hours today (our second nap didn't work so well; I think I didn't properly give her enough down time and she ended up being OS) should I let her sleep for 1.5 hours or should I wake her up?

With my DS, I would let him catch up on a *little* bit of sleep at CN time, but not too much. It almost always means a later bedtime, so as long as you're ok with that go for it. However, I wouldn't do it consistently. CN were always 45 min, but if he needed more, I'd let him go to an hour or an hour 10 min tops. Hope that helps!

I agree a little catch up is ok, but I wouldn't let her go a full 1.5hrs.  I don't think I'd do longer than 1hr max for a catnap.  Keep it an appropriate length to stick with normal bedtime.  :)
