Hi all
I'm new to this forum, having just discovered it, and so glad that i have! I have a problem which is really stressing me out. I have a 6 month son, who has always been a great sleeper, both naps and bedtime. He's on a 4 hr easy, taking 2 long naps a day (1.5-2 hr in the morning and afternoon, and a catnap late afternoon). However, for the past couple of weeks, easy has totally gone off! We live in a flat and the flat directly above us is doing major works, so there's banging and drilling all day long. Needless to say, Joshua isn't getting his naps in! He's napping a max of one hour which is slowly going down to 40-45 min. This of course throws his easy off timing,, as his next nap often coincides with a feed. He's really not doing well and is overtired- the only thing i can do is give him a super early bedtime, which i have been doing (5.30, 5.45). Luckily, at the mo, he's going down fine for bedtime. How can i adjust easy to minimise disruptions as much as possible?
can anyone offer an advice as in what i should do? I can't stop the neighbours upstrairs doing work as they are entitles to, and i know it's going to be another few weeks til they are finished. What i am really worried about is after this is all done, Joshua will be so used to taking short naps, that he's just going to continue to do this and find it hard to take long naps...which may in turn affect his night time sleep. Is this likely to be the case?
I have been taking him out, to see if he'll take naps in his buggy, but he's never been a long napper in the buggy. Sometimes, he will nap for a long time in the car, but it's always hit and miss.
Thanks for reading this, and hoepfully someone can help and re-assure me
