« on: March 09, 2011, 13:30:41 pm »
hi moms,
i have come here in search of help before and received great advise and i'm back again...
so, we recently got back from Africa (3 weeks ago) and were dealing with jet lag, but now i feel like a few bad habits have been created.
Shes 10 months old and here is what her EASY looks like:

wake up - approx 7pm
E - solids 7:30 & formula 9:30
S - 10 - 11:30
E - solids 12:30 and formula 2:30
S - 3:30 - 4:30
E - solids 5:30 and last bottle 7pm
bedtime - 7:30

NW: either 11:30 or 1:30
EW: 5am (i dont usually go to here, but she cried until 5:20ish and then i go and sleep with her and she sleep for another hour and half)

i know her morning A time isnt that long (3 hours), but she cant stay up longer...i have tried to stretch her.

PLS HELP.  im going back to work in a month and need some sleep

Hi. :)  Your A times look a little short and I am thinking you might be hitting the 2-1. http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=163278.0

Some moms shorten the 1st morning nap and offer a longer afternoon nap and others offer a long morning nap and shorten the afternoon nap.  Since your LO like a short morning A, I would think you could start by cutting that first nap to 45 minutes to see if you get a longer afternoon nap.  If you don't, you could try even cutting it to 30 minutes.

What do you think?

i can definitly try and shorten the morning nap.  do you think that would make a difference with the EW's and NW's?

Shortening the nap is not the only part of the equation.  You need to have more A time during the day as well.  There isn't enough and that will contribute to NWs and EWs. :)

Unfortunately, that is a matter of trial and error.

If your LO likes to go down at 10, a 3 hour A, I would just let him sleep for 30 minutes and try to get him back down between 2/2:30.  See how that goes.
