Nap question
« on: March 28, 2011, 10:32:10 am »
Hi everyone, I wonder if you can help. I have been following EASY for almost a week now and we love it already. My baby girl Amelia has gone from waking every 3-4 hours at night to sleeping for 9 hours straight!!
She wasn't napping for longer than 30-45 minutes so I tried her on her belly (don't flame!) and she slept for 1.5 hours!
Now i know she can go 4 hours between feeds, and her activity time is currently 2 hours but if she naps for 1.5 hours, this leaves 30 minutes before we feed again. What should I do? Should I keep her in bed until feed time, or change to a 3.5 hour EASY instead of a 4 hour?

She is 4 months old.

Hi there, and welcome! I'm glad things are going so well for the two of you :)
I don't think you need to change a thing. 4 months is around the time that most (not all) LO's transition from a 3 or 3.5 hr feeding schedule to a 4hr one. It is quite common for your EAS routine to look more like EASAE for a while. No problem with a bit of A time between the fab 1.5hr nap and the next feed. So, if your baby girl is content to go 4 hrs, that's great. If she seems hungry after 3.5hrs, that's fine too, go ahead and feed her. Hope that helps!

Thanks Nikki! We have gone backwards with the napping despite being consistent. She wont sleep longer than 30 minutes and is super cranky, but is sttn.  Weird!
