Night waking 2am to 7am
« on: April 25, 2011, 08:50:59 am »
I am in the process of implementing easy and inbetween  3EASY and 4EASY as my LO eats 4hrly but can't last the activity time on the 4EASY. He is 3mths old and I'm trying
to make him have 5 hrs sleep in day 2 x 2hrly and 1 x 1hr as I understand this is the amount of sleep a 3mth old needs takes lots of shush/pat tho. The prob I also have is he wakes at 2am and doesn't really seem to settle so basically between 2am and 7am I am patting him to keep him in his crib or just lying waiting to re pat him as he may nod off but only for minutes. Is there anything I can do to stop this happening or do I just accept that this is how it is for the time being. The problem is because he doesn't take
long naps and I am having to be with him to do shush pat to stretch his nap duration out I don't get any time for me to catch up on sleep. Any advice welcome.

Is there a reason you are transitioning to a 4 hour routine at 3 months?  Is your LO closer to 4 months?  The transition can take a few weeks.

This may seem like an obvious question, but are you feeding your LO when he wakes?  Is it hunger?  Do you see any signs of discomfort?

What is your routine like during the day?  Can you post it in EAS format?

You are doing the right thing by patting your LO back to sleep during naps.  This is very frustrating and can take a bit of time.  But it is teaching your LO to sleep.
