My Medla pump gave up the ghost. What pump?
« on: April 28, 2011, 21:04:17 pm »
My pump (second hand) has just stopped working.

Should I buy another Medela or do you have any other recommendations? My breasts are quiet large ( 44DD) so would there be a ggod brand to accomodate size?

Check out this blog post:  http://justwestofcrunchy.com/2011/01/19/the-problems-with-medela/

I found it very interesting and the pumps recommended at the end are less expensive than the medelas.

I have an Avent one that I am not using any more. You can have it if you like.

I found it fine. It's a hand one and it took me a few goes to get the knack but once I did I coud express loads. I used it for 3 children. If you want to try it it's yours--nothing to lose!

I have a hand Avent pump also and really like it--also very full-figured here.  If it's just for occasional use, I think it's a great option.  If I were pumping for full-time day care or something like that I'd probably want an electric.
