I am running out of steam - please help
« on: May 31, 2011, 07:42:04 am »
I have posted probably on every board in the next few weeks and just don't know where to turn. My last thoughts are routine. So, the problem is DD is waking every two hours at night from about 10pm.
Some key info: she is 18 weeks, mild reflux but under control, she is EBF, feeds every 3/4 hours, naps every 2 hours, goes to bed and naps awake no problem, no paci, I think she could be teething as swollen gums, lots of drool and chewing like mad. I am wandering whether I should be limiting her daytime sleep and also trying to move bedtime later. She is on 2 hr A time which seems right but maybe this is causing NW? she goes to sleep at 630am as she is tired at this time every night, should I try and stretch her out? I know there are lots of questions, I just don't know what to do, have 2 yr old and just running out of steam!!!

Can you post your routine for us please??

I'm going to move this to night wakings as well - but obviously happy to look at the routine aspects from there  :-* :-*

Most days
E 630
S 830 - 10
E 10
S 12 45min or 1.5th
E 130pm
S 3 or depending on last nap
E 430pm
E 630pm
S 645pm

She sometimes has 4 napsif all short. Sometimes she sleeps until 8am so then the day shifts although she is still always asleep by 7pm. She was waking twice in the night and a few weeks back even slept 11hours so I just don't know why it has all gone so horribly wrong

I think that you probably do need to stretch that A a bit - perhaps not the first A as that is often the shortest - but the ones after that. I wonder if the potential for a short nap is UT creeping in??

We certainly want 2 long naps and a late afternoon CN rather than 3 long naps as well.

I always had chaos erupt after they got through the 16 week GS, and TBH I have no idea why. I guess there must be something developmental about this age as well.
