What just happened?
« on: June 06, 2011, 17:03:31 pm »
Madison never battles nap time. Even if she is not that tired, she will just stay in her bed and rest.
Today she was outside all morning and surely she seemed tired. Come 12:45pm, she told me she wanted to go to sleep so I brought her upstairs, layed her down and left. The moment I left she started screaming like she saw a ghost. I went in and she held onto me for dear life.
I don't know what to make of it. OT? Pain?
Hubby thinks too much sun and she is just over heated.

Maybe her eyes hadn't adjusted to the relative dark yet and it freaked her out?

Hmmm! Good point!
I freaked out b/c I have never seen her like this.  Hubby took her to our bed and she fell asleep there. He tried moving her to her bed and she just freaked out, like she saw a ghost!

Hey Sabrina.  We get random freak outs like this sometimes.  I'm finding that this age is where T is really starting to get sensitive to more thing that frighten him - shadows, bugs, thunder, etc.  A frightening experience earlier in the day can lead to crying at sleep times.  Can she tell you what is bothering her?  It really helps us to talk T through these kinds of things.

I think you may be right. She says she is scared of trucks and keeps asking to go to our bed. She has never slept in our bed.
I had to sit on the edge of her bed until she fell asleep.

Maybe choose a time during the day to talk to her about trucks, and look at pictures.  Point them out when you see them and reassure her that they are not trying to hurt her.  I think staying in her room is better than taking her to yours, so you're doing the right thing.  :)

We went for a walk this morning and I was asking her what she was scared of. She said, trucks, lady at the park, water. ???  I am thinking something happened at the park yesterday morning. She was with my MIL so I am going to ask her.
I put her down for her nap and she wanted to go to her bed but then she said "no bed!" I rubbed her back and told her everything is O.k.  Sometimes, I think she saw a ghost in her room!
