Ok so we've started the sleep training today. I have hardly slept the last two nights thinking of the plan and this morning my tummy has had butterflies!!!!!!  ::)

DH is up there for nap 1. I thought she might be better if he did it as he does things differently to me anyway. There has not been much crying- a little bit of grizzling and it has gone quiet for the 3rd time.

So please send some vibes that it will go ok, that I will not be consumed by anxiety and cave in. I really really really want to do this for us all, but mostly for Charlotte. She is ready for this skill, I just want it to be not too distressing for her. Bless her heart.  :-*

You will get there, it's a bumpy road but will even out very soon. Good luck with the naps xxx

2nd nap she put up a bit more of a fight and I was doing this one so it took quite a bit of patting but no PUs from the crib at all. Not helped by the fact that we live in a semi-detached house and our neighbour decides to go in his garage and start making tons of noise just as she started to fall asleep. We need some louder white noise ASAP.

Will see how long we get for this but I have to extend this nap or we're in for trouble for the rest of the day. Vibes are appreciated! :)

Bedtime was tough, very tough but I know that is to be expected especially after two short naps and a failed catnap. I sobbed through the shhhhs :'( :'( :'( but she was crying so loud I don't know how she could have heard them anyway. :(

I need strength for tonight. I will not cave. I'm doing this for Charlotte, for me and for DH. We can do it. My mind is racing so much with thinking of what will happen.

A few tough nights = a happy, sleeping baby (and happy mummy!) long term.  Keep repeating that, or something similar in your head.

Thank you. On the one hand, I feel awful that she was so OT and so upset  (of course I tried to avoid that but she wouldn't take the catnap and I wanted her naps to be longer!!!!) but I also feel proud that for all her sleeps today she has fallen asleep in her cot.

The PU definitely made her worse, so I just soothed in the cot. Bless her heart. x

Thanks!!! It is so nice to be able to come here and vent and have lovely people who understand.

I too am hoping that we have an ok night. I heard her stirring at the 45min mark but she went quiet. She has been doing a fair bit of resettling in the night herself for the last few nights but we shall see. She was very OT by bedtime so I am not getting my hopes up but just hope it will not be as bad as I imagine it will be!

I always assume each night will be bad, and if it isn't, it's a bonus - rather than expecting a good night ....

She's just cried out a couple of times at the 1hr 30 mark. My tummy flipped. Maybe the anxiety has just been laying low for a while??? Not going to get sucked into it. It will be fine even if she wakes. It will! :)
