10wk old started NW

For a week or two, DD2 has been just waking once in the night for a feed (ebf) around 2am <yay!> but 2 days ago this suddenly stopped & the longest she has slept since then has been 1.5hrs!

Help! What's happened?!

Once I pick her up, she stops crying fairly quickly & I can usually have her back in bed in under 30mins.

She's still in her Moses basket (was hoping to move her into her cot this weekend), and is swaddled (planning to stop that once she's happy in her cot). During the day we're on a 3hr EASY - naps are variable, she's been doing alot of 45min naps, but the day before this started we had a great day of 1.5hr naps... I really thought we'd cracked it!

I think she might have a bit of reflux, (I have to keep her upright after feeds for about 20mins) & I sometimes find it difficult to get all the burps out of her (am using infacol before evening/night feeds, although am not totally convinced it does any good)

I've been feeding her roughly every 3hrs during the night, just incase hunger is the problem.

Does anyone have any other ideas/advice?

Sorry, just read the "read this before posting" :-[

Our rough routine is below. I'm still working on A times, about 1hr 20m seemed to work well the other day. I start getting ready for a nap after she's been up a hour. Nappy change, curtains closed, white noise on, into her woombie, Sit in chair & cuddle. A bit of pat-shh if needed. Try to get her into bed when her eyelids are droopy. Can sometimes get herself off to sleep (if I've timed it right?) sometimes needs pat-shh in bed.

S 11ish
E 1230

S 5ish - catnap

Bedtime routine is the same as nap (she has a bath during the day)

Unfortunately, she often does 45min naps. When that happens I try to pat-shh her back to sleep.

Her feed times vary from 15-40mins. She has one side at each feed.

She is crying when I go to her (when she fusses I lay in bed willing her to go back to sleep)

If pat-shh doesn't stop her crying then I walk her about while shhing in her ear. Or I crank up the White noise.
She usually has the White noise on during daytime naps (to mask the noise of her big sister & next door) but not normally at night

She doesn't have a lovie yet, but she will! (DD1 still loves hers at 2.8)

Bessie,
I don't quite understand - you are feeding her at night time every three hours? Is that right? And you problem is that she woke up after 1.5h?
If that is the case, then my guess will be that she is OT from the day and then wakes up. Stretching the naps might help with that, even though I learned with my LO there are just nights he wakes up short after putting him to sleep and there are nights that not.
Could you think of something that was different that first night she was waking up? Was there something different during the day or in the way you brought her to bed?
From your last post it sounds she only woke up after three hours after BT, was it different before?

Hi Ima,

Sorry for not being very coherent!

She's waking roughly every 1.5hrs. I don't wake her to feed every 3, but I have been feeding her every 3hrs ish just incase she is waking through hunger.

The night it started she slept from around 7 to just after midnight, then every 45mins/1.5hrs after that! I can't think of anything different we've done, but will have a look to see what her naps were like...

Sounds right - I also fed every 3 hours at that age at night.
Did you try to DF? You can feed her at around 22-23 and that would save you waking up at 24ish.
I might be wrong about this, maybe the other moms have more experience than me, but repeated NW, the kind that you are talking about can be due to hunger. Are you sure that she is getting enough at the first night feed?
The other thing I think about, that I heard some moms talk around here, that towards the end of the day they feed a bit more, so LO will last longer at night. They were also BF.

Hi, yeah I tend to do the last 2feeds closer together to "tank her up" for the night!

I really don't think she's waking due to hunger.  Tonight she's woken 3 times (it's midnight here) and she's settled back down to sleep (with some White noise & pat-shh) in a few minutes... no sign of nuzzling for the boob yet!

When she wakes she sounds a bit snuffly (she has been doing this for days and no sign of a cold) and almost like her breathing is wet? (if that makes any sense!)

That does make sense, I know that from my LO. Could it be too cold or too hot in her room? This can also be a reason for her waking up so frequently.
I don't know how is it in the UK, but in Ireland we had some warm days and I noticed DS was more thirsty, maybe she is not hungry at night, but thirsty.
