DD (12 weeks) has become a very slow feeder. I did some research and learned that air needs to enter the bottle to replace the milk your baby has taken in order to balance the pressure in the bottle.  Apparently there are orthodontic nipples that have a hole at the base for this purpose. But I'm not sure what types do. Does anyone know of any and/or use any of these?

The only orthodontic nipples that I know of are Nuk brand bottles/nipples.

What bottles are you using now?  Could be time to move to the next nipple speed ;)

The only nipples I know of are Nuk also but I've switched to the Playtex bottles with the bend in them and they're awesome. The bottom of the bottle has a silicone filter with holes to let air escape and keep the bottle pressurized. Gas is greatly reduced.

Thanks. I picked up medela's new Calma today. I use the playtex bottles as well as medela, but it came with the slow flow nipple. And none of the stores seem to have the medium flow nipples in stock.
