How to prepare oat for a 3 year old
« on: July 22, 2011, 14:12:15 pm »
Hello everyone,
I wanted to prepare oat meal for breakfast. My problem is that where I live, they do not sell any ready to use brand, just a classic oat meal with out any flavour, and I know that if I prepare it like that DS will not eat it.
Do you have any ideas??
Thanks a lot

My DS likes it chilled in the fridge overnight in milk with raisins in. By the next morning the raisins have swelled up from the milk and taste all juicy and the oats are nice and soft. I like it like that too.
On colder days we also do it with warm milk and sweeten it with honey or raisins or other fruits like berries and apple or pear puree.
A sprinkle of cinnamon and/or nutmeg can add a nice taste too.

Same as Ali. You can grate some apple for more sweetness too.

Hi there!
I prepare oatmeal smoothie for my girl. Cook oatmeal with milk, cinammon, cloves, vanilla and keep it in the fridge just ready to blend anytime. Next day put a spoon or spoon 1/2 in blender with 1 banana, more milk, flaxseed and wheat germ. She absolutely loves it and has one every morning, plus flaxseed helps supplement the eggs she hates! :)

Oh that's a good idea. I might have to try that.
