Adjusting breastmilk amt. after going to 4-hr E.A.S.Y?
« on: August 25, 2011, 17:39:18 pm »
My son is 3.5 months old and I successfully transitioned him from a 3-hr E.A.S.Y to a 4-hr E.A.S.Y. I am however confused about how much breastmilk to give him at daycare when I'm away.

Previously when he was on the 3-hr cycle, he took 3 bottles of 3.5 oz each. Now on the 4-hr cycle, he takes 2 bottles of 4.5 oz. So he went from a total of 10.5 oz when he was on the 3-hr cycle to a total of 9 oz on the 4-hr cycle. This worries me - should I be increasing the amount in his bottles? However, he seems to be doing fine with the 4.5 oz bottles ... stays awake for 2 hrs or so, naps for 2 hrs or so, doesn't seem hungry early etc.

He's currently 13 lb, if that matters.

Thoughts?

Have you tried adding another oz to see if he takes it? I always left more than I thought my DD1 would take just to be sure she was taking what she needed.
