Noisy Baby
« on: August 30, 2011, 09:57:51 am »
Hello!
My LO is 6 weeks old and generally sleeps very good during the day but nightime is a different story.  When I put him down around 8ish-9ish he generally has no problem.  The problem is after is 2nd night waking around 2ish (He is on a 2hr schedule).  He makes lots of noises in his sleep ie. whining, grunting, crying, etc. and moves around alot (for example I will put him in his crib one way and when I go to get him he will be sideways or backwards.  Generally if I pick him up he will nuzzle in to my chest and goto sleep peacefully as a rock him.  He doesn't seem to be getting a very restful sleep at night whereas during the day he sleeps very peacefully.  Any insights and/or suggestions?  (I try to tune the noises out but my husband is getting very frustrated as he has to get up early for work).

Hi and welcome. :)  I think most babies are noisy.  At least both of mine were!  They grunted and snorted a lot and I couldn't sleep unless they were in their own room.  I don't think there is anything you can do about it.  They are just so young.  Also, I don't think it is disrupting your LOs sleep, unless of course your LO is waking crying or screaming.  DH found white noise helped him tune out all of the grunting.

ditto - it's totally normal. Colin was SO noisy he only slept in our room for a couple of weeks and then we had to move him to his own room!

Haha... We moved him into his own room the first week!  How long does it generally last?  (I am hoping this does not go on for the next 18 years)  Why is he so noisy at nighttime and sleeps like a quiet little angel during the day?

Same with us... Dd got moved after 2 weeks, I think it's because it's the big important sleep... It totally different to naps

Dh is the same though, I tell him at least she is asleep!
