Time for a dairy trial?
« on: September 23, 2011, 19:06:17 pm »
DS is 8mos now, and is MPI along with corn, and I am celiac. Food around here is interesting :) We've bern off dairy and corn for about 7mos now. Our Dr wants us to try dairy again. I have a few questions:

1) When did you successfully introduce dairy again? Is 8mos too young?

2) should I give it to him directly, or eat it myself? Or both? He's not a big eater any way so I don't know if he'd take it....

Thanks everyone! I'm craving cheese but don't want to jump in too soon :)

Hi, I am no expert but I have read on here that around 12 months is a good time to trial dairy. I think if your Doc is suggesting it now I personally would do it through my milk. Have a big glass of milk and watch for any reaction.

Thanks! She actually wanted us to try at 6 months but I have been putting it off as I wasn't ready. We're going through some issues with his reflux ATM but when that's all sorted I'll give it a go! I am quite nervous about it though, I don't want to make him miserable!

Well yes that the worry :P. He may be totally fine with it though. If you take it easy at first then if he shows any symptoms you can cut it right out straightaway.
