My daughter is a little over 5 months old. Around a month ago she went from sleeping all night long (typically 8:30 pm - 7:30 am) to waking multiple times a night. We do not have a routine during the day because I am bringing her with to work (I nanny for several families, every day is different). I am lucky if she will take two or three 20-30 minute naps throughout the day with the last one falling around 5 pm.
Bedtime is the only part of the day that is routine. Around 7 pm I give her a bath and feed her a bottle or breastmilk and she usually drinks anywhere from 120-150 ml (4-5 oz). She is usually asleep by 8 pm. We are still swaddling her. We tried weaning from the swaddle but she literally woke up every 15 minutes all night long. She uses a pacifier, but sometimes if she's really tired she will fall asleep without it.
She wakes up anywhere from 3-4 times a night. She starts out grunting and moving around a lot and eventually breaks out of her swaddle. She then gets fussy and eventually starts crying. If I come in and replace her pacifier and reswaddle her she will usually go back to sleep. At least once or twice a night this is not enough to satisfy her and she fusses and wiggles around for sometimes up to two hours before settling down and going to sleep.
She hasn't gotten any teeth yet, but is showing signs of teething. A couple weeks ago she started rolling over from back to tummy and now she rolls all over the place. We have given her solid foods (rice cereal and a couple different veggies) just for fun every once in awhile (maybe once or twice a week).
What do you think could be causing the sudden night wakings? She used to be a dream baby and slept through the night from about 4 weeks old. She has been coming with me to work since she was about 5 weeks old, so there hasn't been a real change with that. I also can't get her to nap when I'm at work, but when we are at home she will nap for anywhere from 1-3 hours a stretch. Is she overstimulated? Please help this tired momma out!
