So we have been very strict with alyssas diet and will be until we have allergy testing

She is on low/neg sals, milk, soy, egg, gluten/wheat free

her daily menu is typically this


Breakfast - Ground rice with neocate

lunch - pure rice crisp breads/rice cakes with vitalite

Tea - meat, potato, cabbage and swede

on occation she will have some allergen free frozen dessert but not in the last week


yesterday her poop was looser then normal and today she has pooped 3 times very loose and full of mucus

I dont know what he hell it could be

its been going good for so long im baffled

yesterday and the day before she had exactly what i listed before, having beef the day before and pork yesterday

There is a small chance that she found a tiny bit of food on the table from my other two kids before we have noticed but would one small bit cause mucus i thought that was a built up reaction

Often if they're sensitive to milk, they don't do well on beef either.

Can you give her chicken / turkey instead? DS doesn't do well on beef so I don't give him any!

She hasnt had a problem with beef before...

she is still very loose but not as mucusy now and not as loose iykwim

She has had beef before and has been fine i dont think its that

If it goes to clearing up im going to think it must of been she found some food one of the kids had dropped, but then it would of been such a small amount to cause the mucus strings thats a bit much

nothing at all

I am wondering though now, she reacted to rice when we first weaned, if she might still be sensitive to it but no where near as bad, she has been having alot of rice daily for a few weeks...

I'm keeping her on rice for 2 weeks to see if the reaction stops which would indicate it being something she picked up

if it doesnt stop or it gets worse ofcourse stopping rice for 2 weeks, though it then cuts us right back on her food again

Pork is very high in amines. We know she is chemically sensitive as she has a salicylate sensitivity - often the amine sensitivity goes hand in hand.

The other thing is that when they have a cold or teething - the poos can go mucusy for a short time.  Kai's don't though.

This is one of the most frustrating things I've dealt with yet.

Many {{{hugs}}}. I don't have any answers as I'm a bit in the same boat trying to figure things out though not as severe as Alyssa. Just wanted to drop off some support for the mysteries that lie in food intodlerant los.
