3.5mo old - try to drop NW,am I doing it right?

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to drop the 2am NF. My LO gets her formula before she goes to bed at 7pm, then she wakes up at 11 or 12 for another formula (I guess that's why I don't have to do DF). And then she wants more at 2 or 3am! I know she's not hungry so I started to give her her paci every 20-30min bevore she starts crying. It works till 4am, which is great, I just don't know if I'm doing it right. I'm doing it 4 nights now and I want to know how long it can take? It's not a problem for me not to sleep 1-2 hours in the night if I know that it is the right way...I'd be grateful for every advice

Hi there,
At 4am do you feed her?
Its pretty much what i did to stop the 4am feed.
My LO stopped the 2/3am feed by himself and started waking later for it- 4am, when i stopped this feed he was a bit unsettled and fussy (til i feed him again at 6/6.30) for about 2 weeks, i suppose until he got used to it.
I did find tho he was feeding much more often in the day, every 2-2.5hrs for about 2 wks but he gradually started to take more at each feed and space them out again, so if you are dropping a feed make sure you replace them calories in the day feeds.

Hey,
yes I feed her at 4am, I don't think she could drop that one. Before I started the paci method she was eating at 2 AND at 4-5am. She woke up every 2 or 3 hours to eat and she didn't want to go back to sleep after 5.30-6am! It was way too much to for me. Now she stays in her bed (we also started shh/pat 5 days ago, which works soooooo good) till 7-8am. Maybe I'm just too impatient
How old was your LO when he stopped the one at 2am and when did you stopped the 4am feeding?

Sure:
6.30
9.30
13.30
17.00
19.00
00.00
4.20
7.30
This night was great, she was sleeping till 11.30pm, I gave her formula. She of course woke up at 3am but didn't even want her paci, I heard her "talking a little, but she didn't cry. I gave her formula again at 4.20am, and we managed to stay in bed till 7am. She wasn't sleeping all the time, but at least I didn't have to jump out of bed at 5.30/6am like I do most of the time

How much is she taking at her feeds? Is she draining the bottles and what size teat is she on? Have you ever tried a dreamfeed with her?
Last night sounds like it went a bit better for you!

Hi again
I breast fed til 8wks and he was waking at 2am-ish and 5-ish for feeds, then about 8 wks i introduced a couple of formula feeds in the day and within a couple of days he had dropped the 2am feed and would wake between 3.30-4.30 instead.
He was taking about 5oz.
One night at about 11wks he woke at 2.30am, i thought it was too early for a feed so just gave him the dummy and ignored him, he moaned and groaned abit but went back to sleep after about 15mins, then he didn't wake again til 6am, and from then on i didn't feed him til at least 6am.
After 2 weeks or so of waking up and fussing he just started sleeping through.

Hey Laura, she gets 125ml, (she drinks it all), sometimes I give her 150, (she never drinks all of it). But I do offer it to her from time to time. I'm using the NUK FIRST CHOICE Anti-Colic Latex Teat, M size.
How does DF work? She wakes up for the 11pm-11.30 feeding, should I do DF anyway and when?

Hi Petra, thanks for sharing your experience, maybe I should try to feed her more during the day... Hopefully she'll also "forget" the 2am feeding
