3.5 hour EASY now? even with low A times?
« on: October 22, 2011, 08:46:04 am »
ok after a few days of Levi being ravenous and eating every two hours (most likely a GS) today hes now not even hungry at 3.5 hours....

problem is that his A time isnt even at the normal A time of a 3 month old yet, his A time is 1 hour!!!! I even try and go over thsi by 5 mins and we have problems. SO if Im going to do a 3.5 hour EASY (if it continues that hes not hungry at 3 hours etc) do you think its ok to just let him sleep for 2.5 hours in between? so if hes up for an hour and then sleeps for 2.5 hours it shouldnt mess with his nights too much should it? his nights are poo as it is and I dont want to make them worse but how do I fix this, not being hungry but nowhere near long enough of an A time

Going to send this one to Lolly on bottle feeding Jo - I think they will have more BTDT answers/ solutions for you  :-* :-*

But TBH with the EWs you are getting I wouldn't start 2.5hr naps during the day. If you add on 1.5hrs of sleep into the day I am sure it will impact your nights and encourage the EWs.

Might need to be a more EASAEAS thing I'm afraid.

We pretty much did what Liz suggested - we kept naps to a 3 hour EASY, but feeds at a 3.5 hour EASY. It wasn't especially easy for a couple of months, we did EASAESAE - E very often came right before S so we made sure we didn't feed to sleep and put them down awake. It does work itself out as they get longer A times.

HTH!

thanks ladies, we had a great night last night so im wondering if the feeding will work itself out now that the GS seems to be over. Do you think he was just not hungry because he had eaten so much during the day with the GS?

also wondering, after a GS do they generally drink a little more or go back to eating the same amount as before?

I think it depends on the baby! Some drink a bit more, some go back to what they were taking. I didn't ever notice GSs with my two really so I can't really say!

Mine always ended up a little higher after a GS... maybe an ounce or two over the course of a day...

I agree that I wouldn't let him sleep more during the day... We too had the same thing with our routine going to an EAESEAES...

If he's happy sounds a bit UT to me! Maybe he is ready for you to push his A times a bit!
