We had the problem of LJ waking from a wet nappy. Now we change her before the df which is a pain but helps a lot. We use pampers baby dry - the larger size for absorbency. And tried Huggies but didn't help!

interesting this thread came up again because the last two nights weve had leaking nappies again. I even changed him at the DF last night to help and he was still wet this morning... sigh.

must have to go up another size in diapers, he has put on weight but I didnt think he would be in toddler nappies for night times now

Ok....ugh....enough is enough!!! Tomorrow I am going to buy a reusable washable diaper or diaper cover at a specialty store. I am so exhausted from lack of sleep (also suffering from insomnia,so even when LO sleeps, I am wide awake...running on empty right now)! Had 2 diaper leaks in 6 hours. Poor little man and poor mommy.
I really feel that I am able to cut out his NF now (as the past few nights he has barely nursed more than 2 minutes for his NF and wanted to go back to sleep)...and I am prepared to stick out any PU/PD that I need to do this week. AND my husband is off work this week so it would be perfect timing as he could help me out. HOWEVER...I find that when LO wakes up with soaked clothing, that it wakes him up way more when I change him, even though I keep the light off, keep my interaction with him minimal and use slow calm movements. He is usually up for at least an hour cooing and loudly vocalizing in his crib until he can fall back asleep. This keeps me awake because I have the monitor on in our room (something I wont compromise on). BUT when I nurse him after changing him, it calms him down and he falls asleep right away.
So, my struggle is that, even though he might now need a night feed anymore...that he will continue to wake up because of his leaky diaper, and I wont sleep anyways.
Just so tired right now. and LO is asleep but I have been unable to fall back asleep. sucks.
I will let you all know how it goes with my new purchase. PLEASE PLEASE WORK!!!!

am hoping it works for you!! Ive just purchased the next size up in nappies and have the large PUL cover over it so am hoping for a better night for us as well. I hate it when Im trying to settle him and I realise hes wet and its like "ugh, all that hard work for nothing cos he will def wake up after this!" even if i do it in the dark, fumbling around to change his nappy it just wakes him up completely.

let us know how you get on

I will let you know for sure! Something HAS to work eventually ;) I think I am going to purchase a cover called Itti Bitti Tutto...have you heard of it? The website looks impressive and a lady in my town sells them. Here's to a better night tonight for both of us!!!! :)

Following along as DS1 (2yrs 9months) is still having major leakage at night (he's potty trained during the day but doesn't seem to have any control at night).  I'm not sure if I should start a new thread but I have a related question as I am giving up on the disposables and going to try cloth (I have adapted the sposies in every conceivable way and I resent lining the pockets of manufacturers who cheapen their product to the point that I have to adapt it and it still won't work!)

Going up a size always used to work for us but we are in the biggest size now (I did try bedwetters' pants designed for 4-7 year olds and they were still soaked through and leaked horrifically - I think they are probably only designed to contain a dribble by this age).  He's supposed to be going into a BBB very soon as he's starting to clatter against the sides of the cot but it's going to be a nightmare if I'm having to try to wash and dry full size bedding and a duvet every day!

Anyone know what the most absorbant cloth nappy is.  At this point I don't care about cost - I just need to know what the 'gold standard' is.
My husband is running 13.1 miles in the Great North Run in memory of my brother. Please can you help us raise funds for the Cardiomyopathy Association in his memory?

Hi girils, going a bigger size always worked for us, for instance ds now wears 4+, but for night he has to be in 5 or else we get big big leaks!

Good luck :)
