I have a 3 month old on a 3 hour routine.  We are having problems with night waking/feeding at night.  Gideon is definitely an angel child, he falls asleep on his own after his wind down routine.  Gideon is breastfed and a good eater he is 16 pounds!  He has a dream feed at 10pm and eats well he will wake up around 1-2am  which I think it habitual waking. I pick him up and calm him down then lay him back down and he'll fall back asleep. Around 3-5am he'll wake up again and he won't calm down until he eats.  He wants to eat at that 3-4am nightwaking and will go right back to sleep until 7. This would be fine with me because its 5-6 hours but he won’t eat his morning feed at 7 am if he eats at 3-4am at night.  He will want to eat around 9 to 10am.  If I do get him to eat in the morning it will be for maybe 5 minutes.  Is it time to move him to a 4 hour schedule or should I pickup/put down until morning and not give him a feed until morning? I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks

What happens if you feed him at the 1am waking?

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I think PUPD is meant for older babies, and at this stage you would use shh/pat or a version of it.  With my youngest I did a DF and she woke for 2 feeds (which were roughly the same time as your LO) I did feed her both times as it was clear she was hungry, and she kept that up until she was 5.5 months old.  Her first am feed wasn't the best, but I gave her a top up before her first nap and it worked out.

What about pushing the DF out a bit and seeing if he will push the 1 am feed ahead too and then only have the DF and one NF?  I think we did the DF at around 10:45/11:00.
