We had trouble here as well. DS did comfort eat but only enough to soothe his throat and drift back to sleep so not huge quantities and during regular feeds I think he only took what he needed. He has trouble with dairy and soy and although I eliminated he was still fussy and couldn't handle solid foods. I had him both BF and on allimentum when I went back to work as per his ped. but he was not happy. I took him to a ped. GI and she felt he couldn't handle the broken down proteins of the allimentum and also was reacting to combinations of foods I was eating and that it would be nearly impossible to figure out exactly what combos were causing it. She wanted me to try the elemental formula so we switched him totally to neocate. Aside from some really terrible nights where his reflux got pretty horrid (neocate is super thin and the change caused a flare) he is genuinely a much happier baby during the days. His nights are improving again now as well now that his reflux is calming back down.

Having said all of that....he is still only taking about 5-6 oz. at a time and doesn't seem interested in much more. Although I know he wants to eat solid foods, it's only when he sees us...so otherwise if they are out of sight they are out of mind. He seems content with his intake. So I am not sure what the switch is going to do for us in the weight department.

Grace looks beautiful in your new avatar! She looks like she is doing really well so I would venture to say that she is getting what she needs overall. :)

Just wanted to chime in that we have had weight issues as well - x has plummeted on the charts, so I have been going through the same thing.
Thanks, Clare.  That's really good to hear.

Hope that you have a lovely relaxing time on your holiday and get a chance to rebond and up your supply.

Gorgeous avatar, btw!

Me too -  I cannot wait -  and thanks!

Have you experimented with the timing of your pumping?  I always found that I yielded more earlier in the day even if it meant the timing was uneven. So, if I was going to pump twice at work, I would be get more pumping at 9 and 11 compared to 11 and 2, iykwim.

Hmm.  That's interesting.  I haven't really tried, per say.  Just when I've had to mess with the timing.  I haven't found I've gotten any more than if I'd done it at 4h but I could definitely try again.

So far no big bump in supply.  :(  That's with as much TLC as I can do for myself and lots of nursing.  Milk in the freezer is getting super low and I'm really stressing.  A friend is going to pump for me but she's not dairy free so we'll see how that goes.  Fingers crossed that maybe it won't bother her. :-\

I wonder if it would help you to collect some additional mls for the freezer if you pumped while feeding (capitalize on the first letdown). You could always top her off if the second letdown from side 2 was insufficient (but overall, hopefully you would get more out than you would feeding then pumping, or just feeding one side then the next). Might help you stock up a bit until your supply recovers...

Weight issues here too, but DD is doing SO well.  I think sometimes we get so hung up on weight and curves and "average" (myself included!)

Yes, you may have had a dip with working crazy hours and not taking care of yourself as well as you may have done otherwise, but she's also 6m, probably moving about more, so using up the calories that are going in more quickly than she would've done when she was sedentary.

Lots of water, as much rest as you can, oats and keep on keeping on.  Prolactin levels are highest between 2am - 6am, apparently, so if you're doing NFs, then would probably be the best times.

Just thought I'd pop on with a quick update.  I haven't been back to get Ms. Grace weighed lately but she's really filling out.  :D  Working on a double chin and making me proud!  ;)

Starting solids definitely helped and she's putting away almost a whole avocado every day!  I also started taking domperidone, which was a bit tough to get since it's not available in the US but has been totally worth it.  My supply has skyrocketed, my freezer is full of milk again, the formula I had to buy is still on the shelf unopened, and my baby is happy.  :D  I'm looking forward to bringing her in since I'm sure she'll at least be at the same level if not higher on the wt curve.   Still eating smaller and more frequent meals than others her age but once a refluxer, always a refluxer I guess.  Thought I'd share in case anyone else might benefit from knowing about domperidone in the future.  Wish I'd started it a lot earlier.

;D

Yay! It is such a relief when you can stop worrying about their weight. X is still titchy, but he is following his curve really well, so I don't need to worry any more either.

I know!  So crazy.  Time really does fly.  She's so big and so funny these days.  SO much personality.  It's amazing.

Can't believe you're past halfway through this pg, Sarah!  :D
