The Snowman
« on: November 16, 2011, 15:31:18 pm »
I'm trying to find the 'original' dvd for Raymond Briggs' The Snowman. I found a couple dvd's on amazon but a few comments mentioned that the dimensions had been changed and so the top and bottom of the scenes were often missing. Does anyone have The Snowman dvd, what edition should I be looking for? :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* ;D ;D (Sorry DS wanted to do a few funny faces :) )

This is one we have:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Snowman-DVD-Peter-Auty/dp/B00061RZXI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1321459544&sr=8-2

Its 2004 edition.  Seems there is a 2010 edition too which people had an issue with?  Our is totally fine dimensions wise and we've watched it on a lot of TVs!

hmm it's strange as this is the one where people have negative comments too, maybe people wrote their comments on the wrong one??? I'll stick to the 2004 edition either way I think, thanks!

Yeah but in a few of the comments it mentioned the newer edition.  Strange.  we love the snowman.  In december here there is an afternoon in a local theatre where the ulster orchestra plays christmas carols and have the kids up dancing and singing and then in the second half they play the snowman film on a huge screen and the orchestra play the music and it is magical!!
