party and i'm not really invited
« on: November 20, 2011, 12:48:41 pm »
we had a fail of a dream feed tonight (it was less dream, more look around and chat) as he oke up a little earlier than the feed usually happens! Now he;s been having a 'cot party' moving around, kicking the wall, making little noises etc.. but not really crying or calling out and has been up for nearly an hour... He's 5.5 months old- what could have caused this- and what should i do about it.. when should i go in and try to 'calm' him? He sleeps in a little zip up, arms in sleeping bag...

Leave him!  He's got properly woken up by the attempted df and is struggling to get back to sleep.  If he's not crying and is happy chatting to himself then I wouldn't go in.  Although you might want to check his nappy if he's been awake for that long!

Thanks- decided in the end to leave him!! I checked his nappy and he thought that was the most fun ever!! My FB post at around midnight went 'ok hamish- i don't care if you're not going to go to sleep mummy is... cry if you need me- till then- good night!" I figured that if he was really upset he'd cry!! Nice to know i was on the right track...

Yeah defo.  Honestly though, if it was my first I probably would have been going in to get her as would have been worried she was lonely!  How things change by the third, lol!!!

Please don't take this the wrong way but your post made me laugh! It's only because the way you decribed what was happening with your LO is what happens with me & my LO sometimes and so I could really identify with it...but this time through someone elses eyes & perspective. Good on you for being brave and I will remember this - it will be my chill pill. Thanks x
