Sounds like you had a rough night but at least you got him to settle eventually which is great. It's so easy to forget to check things like that in the middle of the night... Maybe it won't get so wet without a df? There was a time with ds1 where I used to put 2 nappies on him - one in the correct size and another one 2 sizes bigger over the top. Don't know if that might help. Some people use cloth nappie covers over the top too.

Lol - I would never have thought of that!  He's already in the size 5 actifit ones - think the biggest they do is the 5+!!  Maybe the babydry ones would be a better fit at night.  He sleeps on his front so I always thought he needed to be in the actifit ones but clearly they're not working.  Worth a try!

Weird thing is when dh changed his nappy before the df there was hardly anything in it - despite having 9 ozs at bedtime.  And I noticed at 4:30 this morning that his lips were very red as if he was thirsty.  He's having all that milk and he's still thirsty???

Was that after the 1.5 hours of wiwo? Maybe if he'd been crying a lot and getting worked up that would explain it ???

Yeah, maybe, good point.  Tbf he wasn't really crying - more furiously yelling 'A-ya-ya-ya...' etc at the top of his lungs.  With hindsight, trying to tell us something was wrong...  There were a few tears too but mostly just cross.  Still could explain the thirsty thing - must take it out of you to yell like that for extended periods! Poor little thing.

Onwards and upwards!

Hiya, on the nappies - I use the Active fit Size 5 ones for DD during the day but always Baby Dry Size 6 overnight or she leaks. They're definitely better at night than the Active fit.

Troubles getting him down last night - was soooo tired and was furious that he wasn't asleep so kept himself awake until gone 8 pm.  But THEN slept through until 7:30!!!!  No df, nothing!  Woo hoo!!!!  He was in his babydry nappy so that's a thumbs up.  He called out a couple of times but nothing to get out of bed for.  I can't believe it.

Just hope it's not a one-off.  Even it if it is it shows he can do it I guess!

Thanks so much for all the support and advice ladies.

That's great! You just need to keep being consistent if/when he wakes, but well done!!
