2 year old refusing naps?

when were home for the morning hes up at 8am, will not sleep at 12.30 when i put him and his sister whos 3 down for his nap. she still sleeps till 2pm and bedtime is 8pm but this past 3 or 4 days hes lying singing and kicking his legs and dosent seem to want to sleep. when were out and about he still falls asleep in the car? what should i do? thanks

Sounds like he is UT to me. All kids need different amounts of sleep so even though his older sister is ready for a nap he may not be. Have you tried putting him down say half an hour later?

yes i could try putting him down a little later but some times at 11am i know he would go to sleep no bother but ive to collect dd from pre school so dont let this sleep happen....

I guess you have no choice but to wait until you come back from pick up then. I also find that if I miss the window they can be harder to put down, but hanging on a bit later might just get him to the right point ready to sleep again.
