i am jsut wondering what you all do for constipated children? prune juice? I try to get my 3 yr old to drink as much fluid as I can and eats as fruits and veg but this little guy is really backed up right now. any suggestions?

Pears :)  You have to be careful with high fibre foods if he isn't drinking much liquid - fibre works with adequate liquid - without that fluid, it makes constipation worse.

If it is really bad, I would suggest a glycerin suppository - just go talk to the pharmacist first.

Weetabix.  Mix with loads of milk and leave till the milk is absorbed then add a bit more if you can so they're also taking in lots of fluid without realising it.

I think bananas are good, also for upset tums aswell. HTH

Re: bananas - under ripe or 'just' ripened will constipate.  If you leave them as you would for baking to get a fair bit of browning on the skins - the sugar changes and they work to loosen things up ;)
