huge hugs.

We've only just done the BGB transition now, just short of 3 yrs. I kept Emma in a sleeping bag as long as I could as the BBB transition with my DS was awful at just short of 2 yrs (he broke the cot by jumping in it).

We've been without a daytime nap consistently since your DD's age, dropped around 2 yrs with a nap thrown in here and there due to OTness or illness.

Emma's been really ill lately and ended up sleeping on her cot mattress in our room for a week so we could check her during the night (fevers to 41 degrees :-((( and after that, my big girl refused to go back to her sleeping bags....

We've been fine so far but I think its all down to age as well.

your DD doesn't have a sleeping bag? And wouldn't go in one? If she would, it would stop her climbing out as well.

I think there are personality types unable to do the BBB/BGB transition at 2 yrs, at least without a LOT of help from us xxx

Thanks for the replies :)
She doesn't have a sleeping bag...and I highly doubt she would go in one. She was swaddled when she was a newborn- till about 4 months..then I just used it to wrap around her lower body, mainly to keep her warm. But with the way she is..I can't see her being OK with a bag.
My DS transitioned at age 2 to a BGB with little to no problem. I have to forget that and focus on T and what she needs. Its really tiring. Bed time is tiring too, even with no nap she won't fall asleep without a good 40 min of wi/wo etc...I was so spoiled!!

No, this all started at the same time...
Yesterday she fell asleep in the car and stayed asleep for about 1.15 hours (even after we had arrived and the car had stopped).
If she doesn't nap..then by 5pm she's a bear.

If she is playing up at bedtime on the days she isn't having a nap it sounds like she isn't ready to drop her nap then, and is just really OT by bedtime.  Would she lie with you in the room for naps for a few days, to ensure she gets a rest and back on track?  Or go for nice long drive a few days in a row?

How was she at bedtime yesterday after having a nap?

To be honest..she plays up on any day-nap or no nap. When DH is home, he does get her to nap...and still bed time is difficult.
But last night she went to bed sort of okay...by 9..only took 15 minutes to get her to sleep.
I plan to try for a nap again today around 115. If not, then ill take her for a drive...even an hour of sleep is better than none.
I guess we are in a transitionary time..will see what happens I suppose!

may just be a little phase ... isn't it frustrating when they behave for dh and not you  :-\

Hiya Hon,

DS has climbed out a few times, but only when popped in while I go to the bathroom (don't do that any more!) but he does wear a gro-bag to sleep in which seems to prevent it for naps and BT. Although if he can figure out how to climb out of his cot then he can get out of the gro bag!  ::) He's 2 in January and I'm trying to hang in there as long as possible, I just don't feel he's ready, but it worries me.

Good Luck.x.

Thanks for the support. I over-think stuff and get stressed out by it sometimes :/
She has the BGB now, and is very excited..no nap today. But once the company leaves I'm taking the kids for a drive. Hopefully she will sleep.
