So the title says it all. She has learned to climb out of the crib and does so very well  ::) and so nap time/bed time has turned into a fight. We have been so fortunate from 3 months to now--no issues really to speak of.

I know it is dangerous for her to climb out in the dark etc, so am thinking of getting her a BGB...but Im sure the fighting will continue since she will have nothing holding her back.

I know a lot of you have gone through this..thoughts..tips..what to do? not to do?
Thanks!

I would def move her into a BGB now (I know someone whose LO broke their arm climbing out the cot :( ).  You may need to do GW or WIWO or something, but some children are fine.  We only recently changed M's cot into a bed and he slept in it fine, never trying to climb out.  Good luck xxx

I have found too..that she listens to my husband when it comes to bed/nap time--but not me. He still sits outside her room to let her know he's there...and it works. But it doesn't with me. :( :(

Do you think your LO needs a shorten her daytime nap?  I do remember though (and it still happens) that Murray has days where he refuses his nap (We do an earlier BT) and then a few days later has full sleeps!

I have found too..that she listens to my husband when it comes to bed/nap time--but not me
Is your DH more consistent? ie do you eventually give in and do what DD wants?

we have shortened her nap...instead of 2.5 she has been around 2 lately..also have pushed it later (she had started to take longer to fall asleep a few weeks ago)
As for my husband being more consistent than myself...I wouldn't say so. She just has a bit more...respect? fear? something...for him. Im a bit of a joker and I think she thinks its always "that" time with me. How to change!

So, a positive update.
Dh is working nights--so I am on my own with the kids. I borrowed one of the BW books from the play center...and read the chapter about being consistent, a good wind down etc...It actually made me realize I had let bed time get a bit wild ie, jumping around and chasing eachother. So I spoke to DS (who is 6.5) before dinner about how we needed to have quiet time-reading etc from after bath to bed...and thats just what we did.
She did try to get out--but only once- and she never actually got out. I used very few words, when I had to resettle her--and she's asleep! That took less than 20 minutes! Yippeeee!

great news - remember if there is a regression ever (certainly happens with PUPD on about night 5, i think) just  do what you did before and you will get it sorted (Again) :)

I am using my husbands idea of sitting outside the room, so she knows we are there....having quiet before bed time is helping too!
Thanks for the support!

Hellllp!
Our success was short lived. She refuses to nap, even when its pushed back to 1, or 130. Gets out of bed...I don't know if this is the new way of life..if I should drop her nap in hopes she sleeps...I'm at a loss! :(

Maybe she is in the process of nap dropping altogether? I would offer a nap each day, and if she doesn't take it, have a low key afternoon and really early bedtime.  Maybe it's the excitement of Christmas etc (if you celebrate it) too?   Murray does spells of no naps and I think that is it, then suddenly he will want to sleep again - we just keep the routine of going to bed but if he doesn't want to stay he either plays quietly in his room for a bit (means I still get a break :P ) or watches a DVD.
