I am so so so so so jealous of you right now!!!! Awesome news though. This is what Z was doing a month ago :( but then he was NW too :-\ Bet that coffee was nice in the quiet tranquility of a sleeping child.

So I woke Z at 2 and he was really miserable. BT at 7 and he was crying like he was in pain, wanting to feed but not, wanting to be in bed but couldn't settle. Eventually he chilled once the pain relief kicked in and settled around 7.45.It screamed teething or virus to DH and I so now I'm pretty sure we are close to these damn teeth coming! Anyway wish us luck for the W2S at 4.45 ;)

Thanks BB...well it worked again :) We did it 15mins earlier than planned  but Z slept 11+ hours and woke happier too. He just seems to need that touch more than 10.5 to wake well KWIM?

Going to try to remember to do it again tonight and for the next 3 then hold back. Ive always had to do it more than 3 times in the past ;)

Well we had some good progress, then Z was diognosed with a virus, most likely HFMD and we had some longer nights but this morning and tonight it has gone to pot.

I guess I am venting more than anything but he woke early at 6.20 so a short night.
Nap 11.30-2
BT 7.30 it is 8.30 and he is still awake, he is quiet then makes some noise, then quiet, then he cried out for us, then we went in, quiet ... I'm at my wits end. I know wewill get a 10 hr night now :(

He had pain meds at BT and I suspect OT but then w have tired 7.30 BT with 2.30 WU before and he talks too, not as NF I guess and we have done the same EASYs and had good results.

What is going on little man!! Plus DH is being a dork tonight - he's decided who cares if he's asleep as long as he isn't crying? ::)

Hi Sara,

Aw bless you and Z Hon  :( You know I think when things go to pot like this it's just the backlash of the virus and something you just have to ride out. IIWM (and it has been rather a lot lately  ::)) then I would keep to the EASY that was working for him but with scope for just watching him to see if his A times needs shortening a little and his nap lengthening a little to compensate for recovery KWIM  ???

How are you and LO number 2 doing  ???

((HUGS))

PS: DH's would be in breach of their contracts if they weren't 'dorks' every now and then  ;)

He woke after 10hrs because a stupid squeeky bus went past. I was mad! He was mad! SO I did a naughty and went in and fed him and put him back into his cot.I doubt it will work being its 6.45 but its worth a shot.

I think his A to bed is too long :-\ and that you are right and first A too short...its just when he was sick this worked and he was sick a while before I realised it was a virus and not teeth .

So here is what I intend to do...do you think it will backfire? I need a plan!
WU 7
A 5hrs - I know he can do this fine and I know he will nap well IF he is okay ie not pain
Nap 12-2 hrs then wake
A 5hrs- He is talking in bed forever when I do longer so I may as well try shorter if its his WD now ???
BT 7

Day starts at 7 if he wakes earlier he says in bed in the dark unless he packs it, or he has had 11+ hours sleep at night.

And damn it, he is still making noises so not going back to sleep....may as well start the day now its 7am ::)

The only other thing I thought is to let him have a catch up nap and sleep as long as he likes, but I risk this being 3hrs+ and making his BT even later?

lol re DHdorks...he really annoyed me last night  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
# 2 going okay :) waiting for the morning sickness to start

Hi Sara,

Bloody Bus!!!!  >:(

I think trying 5 hours in the morning is a good idea and I would let him sleep 2 hours max. However IIWM I would make the 2nd A time longer, even if just 5.5. I am not going for the CU nap idea because I gave Sam 2 hours CU nap today and he was majorly UT at BT even after 5.5 AAAAGH..so I am afraid to 'Tar you with our brush' so to speak  ;). It has worked for us in the past though so go with your instincts if you think it may be what he needs, but then like you say BT will really need pushing out and a day that is too long will generally get you an EW anyway eh  ::)

Good Luck Hon, hope whatever you decide it works out.xxx.

What is worrying me is that we were doing the 5.5 A after nap and getting chatting..but then he was napping 2.5hrs and after a shorter A :-\

I just PD at 11.55 and he did a cry ??? I went in and gave teething gel and he seems okay now...not sure if teeth or just OT, usually we don't get crying before naps or BT unless unwell now though. Its 12.05 now and I 'think' he is off to sleep.

It is funny, he was sleepy at 11.30 (I know this is because its what he is used to A wise) but by 12 he was fine and I was worried he wouldn't go down. I know he should be okay (not OT with 5hrs, but because of the short nights he may have a bit of cumulated OT you think?

ill 'think' about 7.30 lol....may yet try for 7.15 thanks hun...

lol Susan re planes! Iw as a little mad at the bus this morning!

Hiya Chic,

:-\ I know what you mean about shorter A time after cutting nap, that is true without a doubt. Yes, I think he probably has accumulated OT and then he's suffering short term UT if put down too early  ::) time to use those juggling skills again! WRT him being tired at 11.30..it amazed me because when I pushed Sam's nap out he would yawn and rub his yes at 11am ON THE DOT!  every day for weeks on end because that had been his nap time for months, they certainly do set their own body clock, which is why Toddler sleepy signs can be so unreliable as they get older.

It sounds like maybe he can handle that longer pm A time eh  ??? however I always think far better to PD a touch UT than miss the window and have an OT screamer on your hands.

Everything X'd for you.x.
