What happened when you moved LO to their own room?
« on: January 31, 2012, 22:32:08 pm »
I'm contemplating when to make some changes and am curious when you moved you LO to their own room and what the result was?  Fewer NW?  More?

Thanks!

I moved dd1 at 8.5mo, no real difference in how she slept (frequent NW!) I moved dd2 at 9mo and she almost instantly started sttn!! (however that only lasted 3 months ::))
Blessed mum to two home-birthed darling water babies

hey you with the pretty face, welcome to the human race

I moved DS from a hammock by my bed (where he sttn from very young) to his cot in the adjoining room (not even a door there, just an empty doorway so essentially the same room but a different part of it) at about 9 months because he tried to turn in his hammock and he wasn't comfortable.
Had hell the first night, I stayed with him the whole night (eventually got in the cot with him for a sleep), neither of us slept very much.  Called in back up for the following day so I could rest while he was entertained through A time and I came back on duty for nap time so I could ensure he was put down the 'right' way and reassure him that I was there for him no matter what.
About 2 more nights of some disturbance (I think I spent the second night sleeping on the floor by his cot), then sttn and no more further issues.

We moved our DD at 6months and it didn't seem to make much if any difference to her... she wakes up a lot at night either way.  However, it makes a huge difference for my husband and me!  We love having our room back!  I love not stressing so much about making noise rolling around in bed, etc. and being able to nap in my room during the day when she naps without bothering her.  It's wonderful! :)
