1-0. How long did it take your lo from start to finish?
« on: February 09, 2012, 13:07:52 pm »
We are 6 months in - just wondering how long to expect on this little journey  ::)

H is touchy so transitions always take us longer. Atm he needs a 45 min nap about once or twice a week to keep him rested.

I have tried going as long as I can with 6.30pm bedtimes but even with that he still shows me he needs a nap after about 5 days.

It's tiring!

How long's a piece of string, lol!!  ;)

M stopped napping last April (before that she was napping every few days or so) but once she totally stopped it took us a good few months for her to adjust & to start doing longer nights, as even with early BT to compensate for no nap we got a lot of EW's. It's probably only since last Autumn that she's done longer stretches at night.

All in all I would say it was probably around a year in total from the point of her starting the 1-0 to then not napping & her bodyclock finally adjusting.

I think we are about 8 months in. He dropped the nap about a month ago, but we're not home and dry yet, still very much adjusting. He had a car nap at the weekend and is currently napping now (but is not well so I think it's more down to that). He's still so OT, if I can get enough early BTs in in a week then we can have a couple of good nights but it's not long before he's OT again. I think we're still going to be on this road for a little while yet.

Like Sian, I think it'll be the best part of a year for us too by the time he's settled on no nap and sleeping well at night.

We're near the start - our LO has just started going more than one day in a row without a nap but that's happened over the space of 2-3 months with some phases in the middle of sleeping more. So a long way to go for us.... Does the way they handled 2-1 and other nap changes indicate anything do you think? Lily has always favoured long a times with long sleep in between over short naps and shorter a times so will be interesting to see if that continues.

DS2 started dropping his nap over a year ago. Generally he has a nap still 1-2 times a week (or would have 45 minutes most days probably if we went out in the van). Having said all that he had a 2 hour nap yesterday and is currently 1hr30minutes into a nap today... so goodness knows how lonh this transition will last for us! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.... :-[
