Night wakings at 14 weeks old, advice needed asap!!!!
« on: March 09, 2012, 20:23:13 pm »
Please help me with advice!!!
My Lo is 14 weeks old. He is a bottle fed baby on Emfimil AR formula, this has rice starch in it to make a thicker substance once baby swallows, so the baby doesn't spit up a lot and helps with his acid reflux. He also is on zantac, acid reflux medication that helps with spitting up. It has helped so much. I also stir bottles instead of shaking. He sleeps in a newborn sleeper by fisher-price, the reason for this instead of his flat bed is for spitting up, helps with his acid reflux.
He recently has started biting on fingers and drooling some, my other two children never got teeth until 9 months old.
His routine is by the baby whisperer as I have the solve all your problems book. I swaddle him in a swaddle me for every nap and night time.

He wakes at 7 eats
sleep 8:30- 10
10 - eats
11:30 sleeps
1- eats
2:30 sleeps
4- eats
5:15-6 sleeps cat nap
6 cluster
takes a bath and then goes to sleep anywhere from 7;15- 8 depending on when he acts fussy.
dream feed at 10
sometimes we give him another cluster feeding at 8.

He has been waking inconstantly all night off and on. He was sleeping until 5:30- or so for a month, so to me through the night and now he has started waking up all the time. He doesn't need food because in the morning he doesn't even eat all his bottle sometimes.

We sometimes give him his paci and he will go back to sleep in his own but most of the time we have to pick him up and hold him for a few minutes and lay him back down and he goes back to sleep for maybe a hour or two and then he is back up again.
Please help me,I really don't know what is wrong any suggestions is great!!!!

When was the zantac last checked dosage wise? Zantac is sensitive to weight gain so you may find the reflux is causing discomfort in the night hence the NWing.

If you suspect teeth have you tried medicating before BT and or at NW to see if it helps with the next stretch of sleep?

What do you think?
