BF baby refuses bottle-- any ideas?
« on: March 17, 2012, 05:49:37 am »
My 7.5 week old breast fed baby will not take a bottle.  When I give him a bottle with breast milk in it he kind of chews on the nipple and pushes it with his tongue so most of the milk just dribbles out of his mouth.  He finds it kind of amusing if he isn't starving when I give it to him, but he isn't really taking any meaningful amount of milk in.  I've tried a few kinds of bottles, but so far kind of the same thing.  (Incidentally he does the same thing with pacifiers-- just pushes them away with his tongue).  I go back to work in 4 weeks so at some point he HAS to learn to take a bottle....

If you need further help, come back and I'll get some of the breastfeeding ladies to pop in and see if they can help!
