We use the MAM bottles and love them. I combined breast and bottle for a while too before switching over to formula feeding completely and it worked out really well. DD took to them nicely - we tried Tommee Tippee bottles first but hated them. (She would quite often refuse them and they just dribbled down her face every time she fed. Also she was quite windy after feeding from them but not as much with the MAM ones. That was really important as she had silent reflux.)

They're really easy to clean as they come completely apart, and also, the self sterilising is really handy, no need to take a sterilising unit if you go away for the night (or longer.)

The only negative is that you have to ensure you've put them back together really meticulously so that you don't get leaks in the bottom valve (particularly important if you need to cool a bottle down in cold water.) But that's a small down point, and you get used to making sure it's all screwed together properly.

But all in all - big thumbs up from me (and baby Sofia.)
Rachel. x

aw fantastic!we are using the breastflow bottles at the moment, but it's you have to turn them almost vertical to feed and it's practically impossible to see when it's nearly empty, hence she ends up sucking air!!! that's fantastic to know that they've worked-saw some good reviews online, but it's always hard to know if  they're from real mammies or from the company itself!!!
i assume you didn't have any nipple confusion etc so?

I used them as well. Far and away my favourite  :). I think the silk teats are more natural to a BF baby - silicon must feel very odd.

I've never really had nipple confusion with either of my babies, we used Avent with Max but to be honest he didn't care where it was coming from as long as he got fed!! :) Sofia is definitely more fussy but she never had a problem swapping between breast and bottle when I was combining with the MAM ones. Liz is right, the silk teats must feel more natural, and definitely very different from the other bottles on the market. x

Oh and not that it's a deciding factor, but the pink and lilac girly ones are really pretty too... :)

Hope she gets on with them ok, good luck. x

Just curious as I am about to start with bottles with DD2.
Cofff - how old is your LO? Since when are you offering Breastflow bottles and which nipple stage are you using?
Sorry for so many questions... I am afraid of nipple confusion ( Idk if it happens with 'older' babies as DD is).

Thanks

started the bottles when she was 3.5 weeks!she was flying it with the breastfeeding.so i took a chance starting early!Using stage 1 breastflow...it worked really well, (had initially tried medeala calma with no success) but she has alot of wind after even only an oz or 2. she is now 10 weeks & the bottle is just becoming such a drama!!!she will take it no hassle, but the after-effects make it less than worthwhile!screams, wind etc!!!gonna try out the mam bottles & hopefullly will see some difference!have ordered them from amazon so will be hoping & praying for a quick delivery!motherhood is complicated!!!!

motherhood is complicated!!!!

So true!! I hope the bottles arrive quick!
With regards to wind, I BF DD2 and she had a lot of pain with gas too...It does get better when they turn 3 mo. I hope the MAM bottles helps her with the gas.
Thanks for the info.  :)
