6 months old NW,EW,SA?
« on: April 10, 2012, 08:25:59 am »
Hi Ladies!

I was reading the topics and it obvious that around 5-6 months a lot of babies start to wake up during the night and in he morning. Well the same happened with my DD.
She was 6 months last week and she STTN since she was 3 months old. Usually she woke up around 6 o'clock and had three 45 min naps during the day and went to bed around 7-7.30 pm. She feeds every 2-2and a half hours during the day which is a lot I know but she just seems to be hungry all the time. She has solids once a day at midday.
Lately she started to wake up for a feed anytime between 12 and 4. Even if I DF she would still wake up. And after around 6 she is ready to start the day.
Today she woke up at 1 o'clock and had a full feed and at 5 o'clock she was ready to start the day. I wasn't picking her up for about 20 min because she was playing but after she started to cry a bit and I didn't want my DH to wake up so I took her in our bed and fed her.
I don't understand what is going on..
Also during the day she is really fussy lately. We started to go the a childminder and since that she can't handle it if I leave the room. Is it SA already?
She is really friendly with everyone as long as she can see me or my DH but in the moment we leave she screams.
How could I make her feel more safe?

Thanks

No suggestions I'm afraid as we are struggling with night wakings too but lots of sympathy and hope someone will be along soon to help you out.

It could be a touch of seperation anxiety,or the fact that she has had a big chane in routine with the childminder,so when home wth the familiar like being with you she needs reassurance? have you checkedif she's teething, teething can makebabies very fussy and out of sorts. Sorry i'm not much helpxx

Thanks Sara!

I think it's it! She is learning so fast in the last few weeks that's crazy. I am devoting more time with her and even if we go out I carry her in a sling so she feels safe and close. I think things are improving slowly. She was in a better mood yesterday, even after spending time at the childminder and she slept form 20.30 until 6 am like usual.
I was just so tired her being fussy constantly in the last two weeks! She will start to crawl in any day now and it is going to help with her frustration I am sure.
Thanks for the link!

HUGS- Its a tough time. I think my 6.5-7 months things just started to go smoothly for a while.
In the meantime with all this just try to be consistent as you can. I know its hard as they just don't want to be consistant, but it does help. I would give it a week and if things are still not right maybe post on EASY as a lot of LOs need increased A times and changes to their nap routine around this age and after the leap ;) xx
