My LO is 8mths and has slept through the night ONCE (and counting!).  This is what his routine is looking like. Originally I was doing a dream feed but stopped it about one month ago because I was too tired to stay up to do it. This is what the last few nights have been like.

6.30 wake and breastfeed
7.30 breakfast solids
9.30/10 sleep 2hrs
11.30/12 wake and bf
1pm lunch
2.30ish when I see tired signs. Bed. Sleeps for about 1-1.5hrs
4pm bf
5pm solids
6pm bath etc
6.30 BF
7pm bed

Around 11pm - wake. I usually feed here cause think its like a dream feed
3.30ish wake, mantra cry sometimes resettles on his own, othertimes gets himself into a pickle and needs a feed to resettle.
4.30ish last night woke after resttling himself at 3.30. He got worked up. I tried sh pat and he was distraught, I could lay him on his side because he was wiggling so much. I tried some pupd and he settled the second I picked him up but screamed as soon as put down. Tried this for a while. He woke the whole house so I had to feed to get some peace. I fed one side and left him to settle which he did
7.30 woke for the day, bright as a button.

What do I do? Is there an easy way to solve this problem without waking the whole family?

hugs hun, we were having the same problem with our munchkin (who turned 9 months today) except it was only the one feed and it just stopped by itself.

it seems that the NF is a problem, i think its become a prop and if the patting isnt going to work then you might need to do PU/Pd, however I had teh same problem with pu/pd (ds1 and ds2 share a bedroom) but i turned the white noise up to loud so as not to wake anyone else and I didnt pick up at all. I waited for him to pull up to sitting/kneeling/standing etc and then I would just replace him down into the sleeping position. In between I would repeat the sleep phrase "Its time for sleep now"

If anyone else has a better idea I hope they can help
Why do birds sing in the morning? It's the triumphant shout: "We got through another night!"

How does he settle to sleep for naps and night?  Independently?

Usually self settles for all naps beautifully and for night sleep. He always wakes when I put him down after night feeds, but puts himself back to sleep easily
