Sudden night waking help!
« on: May 08, 2012, 19:18:58 pm »
My 16 week old boy (13lb) was sleeping 10.30pm- 3.30am sometimes 4am which I think is pretty good but for the last 6 nights he is waking roughly every 2/3 hours demanding milk but only 2 or 3oz which in turn puts him off his 7am feed
He has never been a big eater, during the day he takes 4/5oz per feed and even that can be a struggle so I am currently feeding him when he wants in the day, if he only takes 3 1/2oz at one feed he isn't happy to wait 4 hours until the next feed so I will feed him early, from his day feeds he takes on average 19oz then maybe another 3-4oz in total from night feeds
Do they have a growth spurt at this age? He was quite settled with feed times etc now it all seems to have gone haywire and I can't say I'm enjoying getting up 3 times in the night  :'(
Has anyone else experienced this and is it ok that he isn't taking massive 7/8oz feeds like his little friends are??

There is a huge GS ar 4 months!!! do you think that could be it? There is also a developmental leap at this time which caused us awful NW ::) It could be that this is more developmental than GS ...

Re day feeds I think you will need to start working towards a 4 hr EASY as what could be happening is he is snacking all day, then tanking up at night. Have a read of this and let me know what you think.
