Quick question about night feed
« on: May 22, 2012, 06:41:26 am »
My DD just slept from 7pm until 6.30am without waking up for her usually night feed. She will be 5 mo on Saturday. Does that mean she doesn't need it and that I shouldn't offer it anymore? (Obviously following hunger cues still). She has been waking up for a feed around midnight. I haven't done a DF since I'm EBF.

Thanks!

I would say YAY YAY YAY! At 5 months if she is going through the night then she no longer needs it. That doesn't mean she wont start demanding it again soon but you can safely say that she is on her way to weaning off it. What happens now is up to you, you can keep following her cues and give her the night feed when she wants it or you can try other things to resettle her if she wakes up for it...

some others will hopefully come on and give their opinions too but for the moment - enjoy the sleep!

Totally agree with Chicane :) Enjoy the sleep. She will likely wake for a NF if she takes longer nights as you drop day sleep or as she goes through growth spurts but if she's sleeping, so should you be ;D
